Scavenger Hunt - Against the Light, Frame within a Frame, Best Part of my Day, Buttons & Ink

I really struggled this week. My son was home sick most of the week with an ear infection in his right ear even though he'd been on antibiotics for a week for an ear infection in his left ear. So back to the doctor and stronger antibiotics, the fourth or fifth course of antibiotics he's had this winter. I'm an ex nurse so I'm not one to run to the doctor for antibiotics either.
Do you know how hard it is to get nice buttons here? In the end I just used odd buttons, the kind that come as a spare with clothes.
I looked everywhere for frame shots too, oh how I struggled with this, so sorry, I had to use an archive shot.

1. Against the Light
We went for a drive in the mountains yesterday, and stopped at a little roadside cafe for coffee and cake. They had a lovely little garden out the front and I took this photo against the light of the afternoon sun.

2. Frame within a Frame
A couple of weeks ago we went on holidays at Rainbow Beach. My husband and son built this sandcastle with a tunnel through it. I realised I could take a photo of them playing on the beach through the tunnel.

3. Best Part of my Day
We have a tradition in our family called a sandwich hug. Every morning before my husband leaves for work we yell out "sandwich hug" and we all have a big hug. It's the best part of our day!

4. Buttons

5. Ink

Can't wait to see everyone's interpretations

Hi!! Your photos are wonderful!! The beach photos are breathtaking. But, the family one is the BEST and priceless! AND we do the SAME thing when Daddy leaves, but we do have a cool name like you guys do lol. We just call it a FAMILY HUG!!! So awesome to see other families have this tradition! :) Have a good week!

Ps hope you son gets better soon!

Love your sandwich hug - what a way to start the day :))

Sorry your son is unwell again. When my middle daughter was young she got ear infection after ear infection and seemed to be on a/b all the time. She eventually got grommets put in her ears and she never looked back. Hope he gets well soon. Not a lot worse than an ear infection.

Where to begin? Against the light is the most beautiful capture of any I've seen. Frame within a frame is so creative!
Sandwich hug- so sweet my heart melted. Buttons, perfect lighting and dof-could be an ad! Ink has a lovely vintage quality. In short, every single one is a work of art.

oh, I hope the little guy feels better fast!

your shots for the scavenger hunt are amazing, especially your family shot and love the second frame within a frame shot, where your family is actually out of the plane of focus.

I love your frame within a frame shot but my favorite is the sandwich hug! That is adorable. I'm still trying to figure out how you captured that one???

Thanks for all the wonderful comments!
The sandwich hug was captured with a tripod and timer, unfortunately my camera doesn't take a remote switch. We're all in our corridor with the camera by the door.
