I Clicked it up a Notch - August

This month has been really busy at home, my son's been sick with an ear infection that took a long time to go away. I've been really busy too with my project 365 and Ashley's Scavenger Hunt, editing and blogging. I've bought a few new photography books and it's a struggle to get a chance to sit down with them for any length of time.
It's been my second month of my project 365 and it's been hard staying motivated this month. Last month we had a holiday for a week and we took some interesting photography day trips. I guess being stuck at home off and on with a sick child makes it hard to find interesting subjects.
I've been doing even more still life and nature photography, partly because I'm really enjoying it but also because no one has been in the mood to be photographed. I'm so looking forward to school holidays and warmer weather soon.
It was really hard to pick a favourite this month, I took a lot of photos and I like them all in different ways but none really stood out as my absolute favourite.
Anyway, last Sunday I had a wonderful morning wandering around my mum's garden with my camera. We stayed the night and after it rained all night everything was covered with raindrops. She has an acre and a half so compared to my tiny, and I really do mean tiny garden it's just bliss and so inspiring. This is my favourite photo from that morning, rain drops all in a row but only the drop with two star bursts is in focus. Taken with my 50mm 1.8 and extension tube. I know I could have shot it from the side and gotten more raindrops in focus, but I think it's a more interesting shot this way.
I played around with my new texture action and Lady Grey texture from Florabella.I also painted over some distracting white areas in the background.

Can't wait to see everyone's favourite photo for August

I love the starburst you were able to get on the raindrop! Super impressive!! This photo makes me wish it was raining here so I could try it myself! Good call on painting the distracting background. I love the tones of the image as well! Great job!! Hope everyone feels better soon! I feel you on the 365! You know I'm struggling and I'm on my second year. You can do it!!

The focus on a single raindrop and the angle really add so much to the photo. Your work with textures and still life inspires me. Thank you for sharing!

Hats off to you, managing a home as well as challenging to bring out your creativity! Very inspiring to me. Have started working and I need to keep myself pepped up to continue with my blog :)

I just love it. Seriously, so many things about this photo make me feel relaxed.

I know what you mean. My son had an ear infection and wow was it rough and exhausting.

I have found with a busy toddler that still life photography is a nice break for me. It is relaxing, enjoyable, and fun.

Perfection. Love water drops. These look like grapes. I've been working on the 365 Project for over 1-1/2 years and there are days when I just don't want to take another picture. But I can't make myself stop. I have many "dislikes" but am so happy for the great one's I've found. "Feast or Famine": I either have too much or too little. Have a good week.

Lovely photo, I have never heard of the editing programme you use. Maybe I should learn how to edit my photos. :)
