Journey Around the Sun - Days 37 through 43

Day Thirty Seven

The CoffeeShop Blog Cream Swirl and My 2econd Skin Aged Canvas texture 5 applied
More photos from the Botanical Gardens.
Day Thirty Eight
Love that Shot Photo Veil Sunshine
A little clover flower, I wanted to try out a free download. I've never tried a photo veil before, sort of like a warming filter I thought. The download is available here, check out the great post on adding the wow factor to your shots.

Day Thirty Nine
Isabelle Lafrance Midsummer and The CoffeeShop Blog Vintage Cream textures applied
I loved these puffy little yellow balls that this bee was buzzing around. But it was really windy and I had to hold onto the branch while I tried to focus on the bee. He kept buzzing past my ear, so I decided when I got this shot that I'd had enough.

Day Forty
I was lucky enough to spot a koala just off the walking track not far from our house.

Day Forty One
Both photos processed with The CoffeeShop Blog Cross Processing action no.3
My mum gave my son some old parts from some electrical appliances that had to be replaced. He loves tinkering around with them.
Day Forty Two
My 2econd Skin Aged Canvas texture 2 and The CoffeeShop Blog Foamy Chocolate Milk textures applied after converting to B&W
Lawn weeds, I think my husband need to mow the lawns. They are quite pretty though I think.
Day Forty Three
Processed with Paint the Moon Warm Chai action
I loved the colours of these leaves.

Wow, I'm wondering where you live to be able to photograph a koala in the trees, that's amazing! Soo cute. And the flower photos are beautiful!

Nevermind that silly question- I'm assuming Australia, that's just so awesome to me!

That's OK Jeska, we actually live in a suburban area but we're surrounded by a corridor of bush. I was told by a passerby that it's mating season so they're easier to spot and there are more of them. It's not a daily occurrence for me, they're usually harder to spot.

WOW- those are gorgeous & being that we don't have them just hangin' around here- I love the koala. Although my Aussie friend says they are not so nice- I still think they are adorable.

All so beautiful! I DO so love visiting your blog! So you have jasmine flowering! I had been watching ours in bud (as I do every year) but now it has had to be removed to make way for a new fence.

It's so cool to think that you are able to spot a koala in the wild... even if it's not a regular sighting! Great captures! All of them!

Sara,

Your work is so lovely! How fun to spot a Koala! It's like my northern friends who get excited when they hear about the mango and papaya trees in my backyard.

And how in the heck do you make old electrical appliance looks good? Fantastic.

love the isabelle la france textures, popping over to check out her blog.
I always forget what textures I've used cos I keep experimenting. By the time I remember that I should note down the textures, I've already closed the file. Happens all the time! :-/
The koala bear looks so cute (especially the second shot with his adorable nose)
Wow, you can see them in the wild - you are lucky lucky :)

P.S. the wonderful blurriness you get around your shots (is that called bokeh?), do you get it because you are using the extension tubes or can that be done with editing software? Love the bee shot and the first few flower ones (esp the first)
