Scavenger Hunt - Easter @ Rainbow Beach

I've been absent from Scavenger Hunt Sundays for a few weeks. We spent Easter and a couple of weeks at Rainbow Beach, enjoying the beach and relaxed pace. Since we came back life has been hectic with school and traveling interstate for a family member's wedding. Looking back over these photos reminds me of our wonderful vacation and Easter holiday.

3. Ancient or Antique
Ancient Australian History: Aboriginals believed that the world was made by the Ancestors, back in the Dreamtime. The Ancestors made everything – the rocks, mountains, plants and animals. The Ancestors left certain sights to show which places were to be sacred. According to the Kaby Dreaming, Yiningie, the spirit of the gods, often took the form of a rainbow. Yiningie was killed in a fight with a bad man, coming to the rescue of a beautiful maiden. He was broken apart by a killing boomerang, when he crashed into the cliffs, his spirit coloured the sands. This is the ancient Dreamtime story for how Rainbow Beach and the Coloured Sands were formed.

Quarterly Top 5 January, February & March 2012

I realised I haven't taken many portraits of my son this quarter. It's been really busy around here lately. He's just finished his first term of year 1. I've been really shocked by the level of work they are doing in the classroom and the amount of homework they've had. So when we got to the weekend I didn't want to follow him around with a camera!
I had a chuckle to myself though when I realised just how many hand shots I've taken of him. It seems to have been our thing lately. I could show you a whole set just of hand shots! I remember thinking to myself at Christmas time that soon he will be growing up and all those childish features, such as his small hands will be growing.

I took this for Earth Hour and also for a Scavenger Hunt prompt "Seven".

He was pretending to be a monster and get me!

Picking flowers for mummy!

Looking into a little mirror!

Taken for the Scavenger Hunt prompt Bliss.  My son is my bliss, he makes every little thing worthwhile and everything wonderful!
