We had a wonderful week enjoying the sun and sand at Rainbow Beach this week. Even after the first night we felt relaxed and recharged. It was the perfect remedy for the winter chills as the beach was sunny and warm during the day, even warm enough to wear shorts and t-shirts.
This week I had no trouble taking a photo a day. The struggle came at the end of the week when I had 1000 photos to sort through. I still haven't sorted through them all but these are the ones that were special to me.
Day Three
It was cold on the beach when we arrived but we love this beach and couldn't wait to start enjoying our holiday.

Day Four
I got up to photograph the sunrise but it was pretty cloudy and uninspiring. Then I noticed some dew drops in a fallen tree. I took these dew drop photos with my 50mm 1.8 together with an extension tube 25mm. Check out my Month in Macro if you're new to my blog.
By the way, I love beach grass and love to take photos of it.
Sunset over beach grass and dunes.
At sunset we tried some silhouettes.
Day Five
I tried some slow shutter speed shot of the surf at sunset. This was taken at 1/8 second.
Day Six
We headed out to Seary's creek a Tea Tree infused waterhole and creek. It's beautiful in summer when the beach is just too hot, because its so cold in the water, but as it's winter we just popped our feet in. Taking this shot I was so close to ending up in the water, camera and all, as I stepped down on a slippery step in the water.
I tried some over-exposed shots on the beach. See my
I learned - Creative Over-exposure.
More sunset silhouettes.

My son pretending to be an airplane and sitting in our beach trolley. This trolley gets piled high with beach toys and Tom and all dragged down to the beach.
Day Eight
I love these colours.

We built a sand castle with tunnels through the center and I realised I could take a photo looking through it.

Day Nine
Last day, more perfect weather. My poor husband I made him pull over and let me take this photo of the sun setting through the trees on the drive home.

All of these are just wonderful photos, you have captured some wonderful memories of your son playing in the sand with your husband and the silhouettes at sunset are gorgeous. My favorites are second shot Day 3, wonderful composition, the slow shoot surf at sunset shot which is lovely, the feet in water close up on day 6 I love and your last shot day 8 looking through the hole at the blurry silhouettes. I love how you love to experiment with composition and focus and everything.
These are all so wonderful! Looks like a fantastic trip!! =)
