Month in Macro 18 / 30

Found a little surprise this morning under a leaf. I can't wait to see what is inside.

Live Every Moment - Smiles

“A smile starts on the lips, A grin spreads to the eyes, A chuckle comes from the belly; But a good laugh bursts forth from the soul, Overflows, and bubbles all around”   ~ Carolyn Birmingham

I love this photo of my son; he's smiling so much he's almost laughing! He makes me so happy with his wonderful smiles.

Picked as one of Tara's favourite photos. Thank you:-)

Month in Macro 17 / 30

OK, so another unusual macro choice. My kitchen implements aren't really this grungy. I was just after an industrial look.

Month in Macro 16 / 30

Today I was sharpening my son's coloured pencils while we did his workbooks together; and I was struck by how interesting the sharpenings were. I collected up a pile and ran off for my camera. My son knows me all too well because he ran after me and said "Are you going to take a photo of them?".
So it may be a bit strange; but coming up with new things to do in macro is becoming a bit difficult.

Click it up a Notch - I learned

I learned that I'm starting to get a hang of manual mode. I've been shooting in manual exclusively all week.
I was so excited when I took these photos of white flowers with backlighting and I could properly expose them.  The first is macro actually, I like the light rays in the background. Then I ditched the extension tube so I could try to get a star burst. By this time I had to shoot behind a bush that was only 1m tall as the sun was so low.  By the way this is a Snow Flake bush.
