Life Lessons from a Butterfly

Trying to pick my favourite photo from the month was hard. I loved this one though, I know it's not the most technically perfect photo but I love the moment it captured, a magical moment for me. This butterfly was only the size of my thumb nail, he was on the inside of my mum's kitchen window and was struggling to find a way to the outside.
I recently read an article describing the life lessons you can learn from a butterfly struggling to get outside through a closed window. Such as that life is a struggle at times, but to look at the bigger picture and to try again if one way fails.

 I've also always loved a quote from the movie "You've Got Mail";
"Once I read a story about a butterfly in the subway, and today, I saw one! It got on at 42nd and off at 59th, where, I assume, it was going to Bloomingdales to buy a hat that will turn out to be a mistake, as almost all hats are." ~ You've Got Mail (Movie)
A bit of silliness but I was always intrigued by the thought.

The photo was taken with my 50mm 1.8 and extension tube.
By the way I helped him outside after I took the photo.

This is so beautiful! And I knew the quote from the movie before I even read it! My husband would tease me relentlessly for that if he knew.

This is gorgeous. I love taking pictures of butterflies--I chase them around with my telephoto and take improper pictures of them all the time. I'm so intrigued by your extension tube thing--may have to try it one day.

Oh stunning... I love the flash of blue colour on the bottom of his wings. One of the prettiest creatures on this earth.

Stunning, and I can see why you like this one. Of course, I'm an insect person myself, and yes so many lessons to learn from a butterfly - like just the act of leaving the safety of the cocoon in hopes of flying!! : )

In fact my six word memoir I recently posted was - Finding my wings, learning to fly.

Thanks for the fun quote...that was such a cute movie! I really like how you PP this! It looks so sharp which I'm impressed with a subject I image didn't want to stay still for long! I love the details of his damaged wings. A cool picture for sure! I'm glad picking a fav. was hard this month...that means you are really rocking your camera :O) Thanks for linking up Sara!
